You can implement a system to start off organized or you can wait till the end of the year and then:

  • Separate receipts as well as review and annotate on bank statements

  •  Create spreadsheets  or record data manually

  • Title each spreadsheet the same as the categories on your write off list

  • If you are using a filing system to drop receipts in, label the categories consistent with the labels on your spreadsheets and write off list

  • If you are going completely digital, scan all receipts and checks for your digital records
